I started as a toolmaker in 1996. Through the years I’ve been working as toolmaker, machinist, teacher, and even policeman for a few years. I never played guitar or bass, but I’m a fan of rock and metal especially.
Started making picks by coincidence in 2016, when I had to learn some new machinery properly. As a teacher for toolmakers and machinists, I needed a project to familiarize myself with a particular injection molding machine and an EDM machine. I made some attempts to make useful picks, and after some iterations the SJ1 was born.
I slowly got recognition and made more models and got into making signature picks for quite a few bands/guitarists, the first being Tyr from Faroe Island, the last being Gary Holt when playing Slayer.
After that, life kind of happened, and I had to take a break from making picks. I never wanted to quit, but had to for health reasons, I just had way too much on my plate.
Through all of this, I knew
Christian Hoegh, a blacksmith and machinist. Through my main job, we got to work together on a lot of projects, and we slowly found out we needed to restart Morgan Picks together, as our similarities and differences would make a really strong team.
Though my journey, I had found my strengths and weaknesses, and there was no doubt that Christian would be the right one to be in charge, with me taking care of design and production.
He is the reason Morgan Picks is back, and we are thrilled to be able to make something cool for you again.
Morgan Picks are made in Denmark, made from FDA-approved Delrin.
Everything is made here by us. Everything from designs of picks, the mold design, making of the molds, the injection molding itself, packaging. It’s important to us to use local suppliers as much as possible, as well as using sustainable materials.
